The Bank of Ghana and pensions are the largest and active participants in the REPO market. In 2022, the Bank of Ghana and the commercial banks contributed to 69.4 percent of classic repo transactions. During the same period, transactions between commercial banks represented 30.6 percent. The smallest share of transactions occurred between commercial banks and the State pension fund SSNIT (Social Security and National Insurance Trust)
