The 2023 Omama: A High Performance Pickup Truck Made-in-Ghana

It looks like the latest US-made 4x4 truck. Inside, it feels as smooth as a Japan-made 4x4 truck. It also has the reassurance of a German automobile. But, after a short drive, this truck reveals a blend of US, Japan, and European car experiences - Three in One. The new Kantanka Omama Pickup 2023 has an automatic transmission and a 4 Cylinder Turbo-charged engine. This car delivers extra power, fuel economy efficiency and lower emissions. The manufacturer says that the car's modern technology reduces frequency of maintenance and operational cost.

The Omama Pickup 2023 has a keyless ignition, remote central locking and also MP5 large android touch screen. Drivers enjoy an integrated GPS navigation system and a front and back parking radar. Security features include ABS, adjustable power steering, a speed limit reminder and a cruise control system.

Kantanka Automobile, an independent family-owned company, manufactures all its car brands at its assembly plant in Accra. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, a Ghanaian engineer, founded the company in 1994. In 1998, the company produced the first Complete Built Unit (CBU) using over 75 percent of local components, which included an engine block manufactured in Ghana. In 2006, he produced his first SUV, which he called (ONANTEFO). Today this vehicle delivers impressive power with its 2.5 Turbo Diesel engine.

Today Kantanka Automobile Company Limited (KACL) specializes in the manufacturing of vehicles for African rugged terrains. The company creates a niche market, where it offers vehicles for medium and lower income earners in Africa. The full line of Kantanka cars includes the Mensah, Amoanimaah, K71, Onantefo, Omama Pickup and Omama Hard Body. According to the company website, KACL produces about 120 cars per month.
